Great news! We're scheduled to be in court to finalize the adoption a lot earlier than we expected! The fabulous Ms. Sutton from the Middlesex County Court Surrogate's Office notified us by mail that due to some logistics with this adoption, we can finalize this calendar year! Not just that, but on Middlesex Counties National Adoption Day on Thursday November 13th!!! We're elated :)

Event Details: A joyous celebration, honoring children being adopted and their new families. This yearly event is hosted and sponsored by the Middlesex County Judiciary, Honorable Travis L. Francis,Assignment Judge, Presiding, the Middlesex County Surrogate, Kevin Hoagland, the Middlesex County Bar Foundation, and the New Jersey Division of Youth and Family Services. Activities include a welcoming ceremony by the participating groups, dignitaries, and public officials,followed by adoptions throughout the day. The newly adopted children and their families are individually recognized and presented with flowers, balloons,teddy bears,recognition plaques,crayons, coloring books and children's story books. Adjacent to the courtroom is a private reception area where the families being honored can enjoy light refreshments, while stories are read, books are colored, and congratulatory hugs and hand shakes exchanged. The happiest day of the year in the Middlesex County Court House.
